01 What's the difference between a police check and a PI background check?

A standard police check only returns disclosed criminal convictions. A PI background investigation layers in employment history verification, business record research, OSINT, court data, and where warranted, field investigation — giving a far more complete picture than a basic clearance.

02 Is a background check on a new partner legal?

Yes. Researching publicly available information about a person — business records, court data, ASIC filings, social media — is lawful. We do not access private records without consent or conduct any activity that would constitute stalking or harassment.

03 What does the report include?

A structured report with all research findings, source documentation, and an investigator's declaration. We summarise what was found and — importantly — flag anything that could not be confirmed. You get the full picture, not a sanitised pass/fail.

04 Can you verify someone's employment history?

Yes. We can verify claimed employment history by confirming the existence of listed employers, the dates of employment, and — in some cases — the roles held. Deliberate fabrication of employment history is more common than most employers expect.

05 How long does a background check take?

Most standard background checks are completed within 3–5 business days. More complex investigations — multiple subjects, extensive OSINT, or field verification requirements — take longer. We advise on timeline before commencing.

06 Do you verify overseas qualifications or employment?

For some jurisdictions, yes. Overseas verification depends on the country and the availability of public records. We advise on what is achievable for your specific subject before commencing.
